Students on the Portsmouth School of Ballet Competition Company are chosen through audition in the fall of each year. The students have the option to audition in Ballet, Pointe, Lyrical, Modern, Musical Theater, Hip-hop, Street Funk, and Tap. Solos, duos and trios are also chosen through audition and are awarded to the top high scoring dancers in each category.

The students chosen to be part of the Portsmouth School of Ballet's Competition Company are required to attend three regional competitions and a national competition each year. They also perform in the schools all student production of the Nutcracker, annual end of the year Spring performance,and Prescott Park shows.

The Portsmouth School of Ballet Competition Company is for the dedicated dance student who is on a professional track. The students dance 10 - 20 hours per week depending upon their level. The company is for students ages 5 - up.
